The Airbus A319 is the shortest single-aisle aircraft in the A320 family. It comes in two generations: the A319ceo, seating 124 to 156 passengers, and the A319neo, seating 140 to 160 with next-generation engines. Airbus quotes a range of approximately 6,950 km for both.
For aircraft charter, the A319 meets a specific requirement: carrying 100 to 150 people on European routes, with an airliner cabin and baggage holds suited to group travel. It sits between regional jets such as the Embraer 170 and longer single-aisle aircraft such as the Airbus A321.
At Artheau Aviation, we charter the A319 for seminars, incentive trips, conventions and sports teams. We identify available aircraft, compare operators and coordinate each charter flight from departure through to your group’s arrival.

The charter price of an A319 covers the entire aircraft, regardless of how many seats are occupied. It depends on flight time, aircraft positioning, airport charges, ground handling and any time spent waiting at the destination. When outbound and return flights are several days apart, we compare keeping the aircraft on site with repositioning it empty between flights.
On a per-seat basis, a well-filled A319 can be more suitable than a larger aircraft operating half-empty. For larger groups, two A319s can also be compared with a higher-capacity aircraft such as the A321; availability on your dates often determines the best solution.
Every proposal is individually quoted after consulting several operators. We explain what is included and which factors may affect the price before you confirm.
The A319 is widely operated in Europe for medium-sized group flights, offering seating capacity suited to many corporate events.
124 to 160 seats depending on the variant: a group of 100 to 150 can use the aircraft without unnecessarily booking a larger one.
A320-family single-aisle cabin, six seats per row, sometimes with a few business-class rows.
Approximately 27.7 m³ of hold space according to Airbus, for luggage on multi-day trips, subject to payload limits.
The widely operated A319ceo and the newer A319neo: we recommend the aircraft available on your dates.
Its limitation: one A319 cannot carry more than 160 passengers. An Airbus A321 or several aircraft operating in parallel may be better suited.
Airbus quotes a range of approximately 6,950 km for both the Sharklet-equipped A319ceo and the A319neo. This is a maximum figure: with a full passenger load, group baggage and a standard weight variant, the achievable distance is shorter. For each charter, we ask the operator to confirm feasibility based on the aircraft variant, payload, winds and alternate airport.
From Paris Charles de Gaulle, the A319 can fly nonstop to Marrakech (approximately 2,130 km), Reykjavik (2,240 km), Heraklion (2,390 km), Tenerife South (2,850 km) or Larnaca (2,980 km). Cairo and Tel Aviv, just over 3,200 km away, are also possible depending on payload.
In practice, the A319 is mainly chartered for European and Mediterranean routes. For larger groups or longer flights with substantial baggage, we may recommend an Airbus A321 or a wide-body aircraft instead.

According to Airbus, the A319ceo seats 124 passengers in a two-class layout and up to 156 in a single-class cabin. The A319neo seats 140 in two classes and up to 160 in a high-density layout. Most aircraft offered for charter have between 140 and 156 seats; we confirm the exact capacity and seat map in every proposal.
The cabin has six seats per row, three on each side of the aisle, and is 3.70 m wide according to Airbus. Some airlines offer several business-class rows at the front, suitable for executives, guests or speakers.
Airbus specifies approximately 27.7 m³ of usable hold volume for the A319, across the forward, aft and bulk compartments. This can accommodate group luggage for a multi-day stay, subject to payload limits. For sports teams or events involving equipment, we check permissible volume and weight with the operator before confirming the aircraft.
| Charter mission | A319 suitability | Our assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Seminar, incentive trip or convention | Highly suitable | 100 to 156 participants travelling to a European destination on their chosen schedule. |
| Event for 200 to 300 people | Suitable | Two A319s operating in parallel can provide more flexibility than a wide-body at a secondary airport. |
| Sports team or supporters’ travel | Suitable | Capacity for a team, staff and partners, with equipment in the holds. |
| Repatriation or replacement flight | Suitable | Widely operated in Europe and often available at short notice. |
| Group of fewer than 90 passengers | Often oversized | An Embraer 170 or CRJ900 offers capacity closer to the requirement. |
| More than 160 passengers on one flight | To assess | An Airbus A321 can accommodate the group on a single aircraft. |

In 2023, an event agency working for an automotive manufacturer entrusted us with the flights for a four-day incentive trip to Porto for approximately 280 employees. Two Airbus A319 aircraft departed from Stuttgart. Beyond transportation, the challenge was to make each stage of the journey part of the experience envisioned by the brand.
The client wanted to reward its employees with a four-day stay in Porto. The event agency managed the programme at the destination, while we organised the entire air transport operation.
The flight itself also needed to reflect the company’s identity: schedules, onboard welcome and cabin arrangements were treated as part of the event rather than simply transportation.
With approximately 280 passengers, the group required two aircraft. The A319 provided suitable capacity and could operate at both airports on the approximately 1,630 km route between Stuttgart and Porto.
Working with the agency, we set departure and return times to fit the itinerary and selected each aircraft’s cabin configuration, with business class in the first rows for the company’s executives.
For a group of this size, we coordinated baggage handling on both outbound and return journeys with the operators and airports.
The onboard catering was designed specifically for the flight with the agency and customised to reflect the manufacturer’s brand.
Both aircraft interiors were personalised for the manufacturer, with branded headrest covers, blankets and onboard reading materials. Employees entered their company’s world from the moment they boarded. An Artheau Aviation supervisor was present to oversee the flights and coordinate the teams on site.
This type of personalisation requires advance coordination with the operator to approve what may be installed onboard and the preparation times involved.
This mission illustrates the value of aircraft charter for an incentive trip: the flight becomes part of the event, with schedules, cabin arrangements, catering and branded interiors designed around the client. A single air charter broker coordinated both aircraft alongside the agency.
Tell us the route, dates, passenger numbers and baggage volume. For a corporate event, also specify any catering or cabin personalisation requirements.
We consult several operators, check aircraft and slot availability, then present one or more options with details of the services included.
After confirmation, we coordinate operators, airports, passenger lists and transfers. Your main contact remains available until the group arrives.
We do more than find an available aircraft. From your first request to landing, our teams coordinate every stage of your charter.
Your dedicated broker remains your main point of contact throughout your journey, from the initial request to your arrival.
We compare aircraft and certified operators to recommend the solution best suited to your itinerary, requirements and budget.
Once your flight is confirmed, our Flight Preparation team coordinates the operational details required for a smooth journey.
The team oversees flight logistics, ground handling, catering, passenger requirements and other arrangements before departure.
Every flight is operated by a certified aircraft operator holding the licences and approvals required for the mission.
We review operators, aircraft and operational requirements to check that each proposed solution meets our safety and compliance standards.
Pricing is quoted for the entire aircraft. It depends on flight duration, positioning, airport charges and the number of days the aircraft remains at the destination. We detail all included services before confirmation.
According to Airbus, the A319ceo seats 124 to 156 passengers and the A319neo 140 to 160, depending on the configuration. We confirm the exact seat count in each proposal.
Both share the same airframe and have a quoted range of approximately 6,950 km. The A319neo has next-generation engines and can seat slightly more passengers. The A319ceo remains more common on the charter market.
The A320 is slightly longer and offers more seats. For groups of 100 to 150, the A319 can reduce unused capacity; above that, an A320 or A321 may be more suitable.
Yes, to an extent and with the operator’s approval. Catering, onboard welcome and branded elements should be prepared two to three weeks in advance, as with our Stuttgart–Porto incentive trip using two A319s.
Yes. We coordinate multiple aircraft travelling to the same destination, with one main point of contact for the entire programme.
As early as possible, particularly in peak season. Cabin personalisation and special catering also require two to three weeks of preparation with the operator and other service providers.
