The right aircraft, not simply an available one.
Unlike an aircraft operator, we are not limited to one fleet. We compare the Dash 8 Q400 with hundreds of available aircraft to recommend the one that genuinely fits your mission.

At Artheau Aviation, we arrange Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 charter flights for corporate travel, sports teams, events and other large
group transportation requirements. The Dash 8 Q400 is the fastest and highest-capacity turboprop airliner in commercial service,
accommodating up to 90 passengers on short- and medium-haul routes.
Its combination of jet-like cruise speed, regional airport accessibility and efficient operating costs makes it an excellent choice
for dedicated group charter flights. The aircraft is regularly chartered for corporate events, sports teams, shuttle operations,
incentive trips and other group movements requiring fast regional connectivity.
With a range of approximately 2,037 km (1,100 nautical miles), the Dash 8 Q400 connects regional and domestic
destinations while maintaining the flexibility of a turboprop aircraft.
Its high cruise speed also helps reduce travel times compared with conventional turboprops, without sacrificing access to
regional airports. As an air charter broker, we assess every mission before recommending the Dash 8 Q400 for your group.
We compare passenger numbers, route distance, airport constraints, baggage requirements and
operating costs to identify the most suitable charter solution.
Chartering a Dash 8 Q400 allows your entire group to travel together on a schedule built around your operational requirements.
We coordinate your aircraft, airports and departure times according to your mission rather than the constraints of scheduled airline services.

The Dash 8 Q400 is designed for groups seeking high passenger capacity, fast regional connections and the flexibility of a dedicated aircraft.
With seating for up to 90 passengers, it is the highest-capacity turboprop airliner currently in commercial service.
Its cruise speed of approximately 667 km/h is significantly higher than that of conventional turboprops, helping reduce overall journey times on regional routes.
Despite its speed, the Dash 8 Q400 retains the operational flexibility of a turboprop, allowing access to many regional airports throughout Europe.
This aircraft is particularly suited for:
• Sports teams and their staff,
• Companies organising seminars, incentive trips or roadshows,
• Event organisers transporting large groups,
• Tour operators and leisure groups,
• Government or institutional delegations.
Its combination of capacity, speed and regional airport accessibility makes it an efficient solution when an entire group needs to travel together.
We recommend the Dash 8 Q400 for missions involving:
• Groups of approximately 50 to 90 passengers,
• Regional flights where reducing travel time is a priority,
• Destinations served by regional airports,
• Dedicated schedules built around your operational requirements.
For smaller groups or longer routes, we recommend another aircraft offering a better balance between capacity, range and charter cost.
The Dash 8 Q400 combines high passenger capacity with fast regional performance and efficient airport accessibility.
Its cabin measures 2.50 metres wide and 1.98 metres high, providing a spacious environment for regional group travel.
Depending on the operator and cabin layout, the aircraft can accommodate up to 90 passengers in a single-class configuration.
Its baggage compartments provide up to 11.6 m³ of volume and a payload capacity of approximately 1,724 kg for luggage and equipment.
The aircraft also delivers strong short-field performance, allowing operations from many regional airports with more limited runway infrastructure.
The Dash 8 Q400 also benefits from modern technology:
• Pratt & Whitney Canada PW150A turboprop engines delivering up to 5,071 shaft horsepower at take-off,
• Dowty R408 six-blade composite propellers designed to reduce vibration and cabin noise,
• A modern flight deck supporting efficient and reliable regional operations.
Depending on the operator, several cabin layouts may be available to meet your passenger and operational requirements.
Configurations can include high-density seating, dual-class layouts or reduced-seat arrangements providing additional baggage or cargo capacity.

The De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 is particularly suited to group charter missions requiring high passenger capacity and efficient regional connectivity.
Its combination of seating capacity and operational flexibility makes it an effective solution when an entire group needs to travel together on a dedicated schedule.
For corporate travel, the aircraft is particularly suitable for:
• Corporate seminars and incentive trips,
• Multi-city roadshows,
• Factory, industrial site and project visits.
We help companies organise dedicated flights that keep teams together while simplifying regional travel logistics.
Sports teams can charter the aircraft to transport players, coaching staff and equipment according to training and competition schedules.
Its generous passenger capacity allows the entire delegation to travel on a single aircraft, reducing operational complexity before and after an event.
For event organisers, tour operators and leisure groups, the aircraft offers valuable flexibility:
• Departure times organised around the group's programme,
• Direct access to regional airports closer to the final destination,
• A dedicated aircraft simplifying passenger and baggage management.
Government and institutional delegations also benefit from dedicated schedules, regional connectivity and a single aircraft for the entire mission.
At Artheau Aviation, we recommend the Dash 8 Q400 when your mission requires:
• A dedicated aircraft for approximately 50 to 90 passengers,
• Fast and efficient regional group transportation,
• Direct access to regional destinations with operational flexibility.
If your project requires different capabilities, we can also recommend other regional aircraft based on your operational requirements, passenger numbers and itinerary. For example, the ATR aircraft family offers an alternative for certain regional charter missions, while regional jets may be better suited for longer routes.
For smaller groups or different mission profiles, we recommend the aircraft offering the best balance between capacity, performance and overall charter cost.
The Dash 8 Q400 belongs to an aircraft family that has shaped regional aviation for more than four decades. The Dash 8 programme was originally developed by de Havilland Canada, with the first Dash 8-100 entering commercial service in 1984.
Bombardier acquired the programme in 1992 and later introduced the high-performance Q400 variant. The Dash 8-400 aircraft completed its maiden flight in 1998 before entering commercial service in 2000.
The Q400 was developed to achieve three main objectives:
• Increase passenger capacity compared with earlier Dash 8 variants,
• Deliver cruise speeds closer to those of regional jets,
• Preserve the operating efficiency of a turboprop aircraft.
The aircraft is certified by Transport Canada, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Today, more than 630 Dash 8-400 aircraft operate with airlines and charter operators throughout the world.
Since 2019, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada has continued supporting the programme and its worldwide operator network.
Today, the Dash 8 Q400 is recognised for:
• The highest passenger capacity among turboprop aircraft in production,
• One of the fastest cruise speeds in regional turboprop aviation,
• Proven performance across regional, remote and operationally demanding airports.
For group charter, the Dash 8 Q400 combines:
• High passenger capacity,
• Fast regional connectivity,
• Strong performance at regional airports,
• A spacious cabin designed for group travel.
These characteristics make the aircraft particularly suitable for:
• Corporate group travel,
• Sports teams and their staff,
• Event and incentive travel,
• Tour operators and leisure groups.
The Dash 8 Q400 is an excellent solution for regional group charter, but it may not be the most suitable aircraft for every mission.
Each charter project requires a tailored assessment to identify the aircraft offering the best balance for your operational requirements.
Before making our recommendation, we consider:
• Number of passengers,
• Distance to travel,
• Airport constraints,
• Baggage and equipment requirements,
• Required schedule,
• Budget.
For groups travelling with fewer than 10 passengers, the Embraer Phenom 300 provides greater flexibility while reducing charter costs.
When cruise speed is not a priority, the ATR 72 or ATR 42 may offer a more economical solution for regional group travel.
For longer routes, the Embraer E175 provides greater range while maintaining a comparable passenger capacity.
Larger groups or longer missions may also require a narrow-body airliner offering additional seating, baggage capacity and operational range.
At Artheau Aviation, we recommend the Dash 8 Q400 only when it is the right aircraft for your mission.
We analyse your itinerary, passenger numbers, airport constraints and operational requirements before selecting the most suitable solution.
