The cabin measures 2.20 m wide and accommodates up to 33 passengers in a pressurised environment designed for regional flights. Its spacious interior offers a higher level of comfort than many aircraft of similar size.
The aircraft features a 6.4 m³ baggage compartment capable of accommodating standard luggage, sports equipment and professional material, subject to weight and loading limitations.
Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW119B turboprop engines developing 1,625 kW each, the Dornier 328 cruises at 620 km/h and can operate from runways as short as approximately 1,090 metres, providing access to airports beyond the reach of many regional jets.
Depending on the operator, the Dornier 328 may be configured for up to 33 passengers in a standard layout or adapted for corporate and VIP operations.

Developed by Dornier GmbH during the late 1980s, the Dornier 328 was designed to replace an ageing generation of regional turboprops with a faster, quieter and more comfortable aircraft.
The prototype completed its first flight on 6 December 1991 in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. Following certification in October 1993, the first production aircraft entered commercial service the same year with Swiss regional airline Air Engiadina.
During the programme, Dornier became part of Fairchild-Dornier, allowing production of the aircraft to continue throughout the 1990s. The Dornier 328 quickly gained recognition for its spacious cabin, high cruise speed and excellent operational flexibility.
A total of 107 Dornier 328 turboprops were produced before production ended. The aircraft later evolved into the Dornier 328JET and remains in service today with regional airlines, corporate operators and government organisations worldwide.
While the Dornier 328 is an excellent choice for regional group travel, it is not the most suitable aircraft for every charter project.
